Trying to Slow Down

My coach has been trying to get me to slow down the pace on my easy runs. Not sure I fully understand why (since I am a slowpoke to begin with) but today I really tried to focus on keeping my pace at the low end of the targt range (10:45/mile). Although I started out a little faster than I was supposed to, after my full 10 mile route I was exactly on pace. Hope this going slow stuff will help me to be strong and fast come race day!

Comments:
I've read in lots of places that the long runs need to be considerable slower than your marathon pace from 60 to 90 sec slower! In order for your body to develop aerobic resistance. For more info this article was really interesting: http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/training_for_running/102930

Good luck, Boston is so close!!! =)
